The idea of food system resilience refers to the ability of the food system to withstand and recover from challenges and shocks. It has garnered significant attention due to the increasing fluctuations in climate, prices, and political stability. Moreover, recent pandemics have further endangered the food system, potentially worsening undernourishment. This research paper offers a critical literature review to examine the measures proposed and put into practice to strengthen the resilience of our food systems. With the increasing challenges posed by climate change, population growth, and market fluctuations, it has become increasingly important to establish food systems that are both robust and sustainable. By analyzing articles, reports and case studies, this paper explores the effectiveness and potential of various strategies such as diversifying food sources, adopting sustainable farming techniques, implementing climate-smart agriculture practices, embracing technologica innovations, promoting local food systems, and introducing social and economic innovations. The findings underscore the significance of these measures in bolstering the resilience of food systems while shedding light on areas that necessitate research and evaluation to achieve a sustainable approach to enhance resilience.
